Leveraging the experiences gained from version 2 adoptions, the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) continues to evolve as an effective framework for transforming IT from a technology focus to a customer focus. The incorporation and alignment of ITIL with other frameworks, such as Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (CobiT) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 20000, merges ITIL’s proven processes with globally accepted IT service management (ITSM) standards. The process of aligning technology with business requirements will be greatly facilitated using version 3 and will result in a holistic integration of regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
